About Newtown Square
Newtown Square, officially known as Newtown Township, is the oldest township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, although prior to 1789 it was a part of Chester County. The area has several locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Hood Octagonal School, Old St. David’s Church (also the burial site of General “Mad” Anthony Wayne), and Square Tavern among others. According to the 2010 census, Newtown Square has a population of 12,216 residents.
